Double-click to edit task notes

Written by Charnjit Singh Dharival

Why does the user have to double-click the notes field from Edit Tasks to add some alphanumeric characters?

This feature was introduced from Orchestrate version 7.75 onwards.

The double-clicking function was made to edit task notes because there are two controls behind the scenes and we need to switch between the two.
One is used to display a user friendly version, including hyperlinks, while the other control is used to show the data behind the scenes.

Also, prior to the double-clicking mechanism enhancement, the cursor kept moving all over the place. The only way to rectify random cursor movements in the task notes field, is to force it to be double-clicked. The mouse tool tip contains a message 'Double Click To Edit'.

Furthermore, when you have hyperlinks in task notes e.g. Open Standard Work File *c:\Users\CSD\Documents\Access\Access Brochure.pdf

With previous versions of Orchestrate, you could not further edit task notes with a hyperlink. Now that we have the double-click mechanism, you can add notes with the hyperlink already present.
