Full task description not displaying on the task bars.
Some task bars are missing any labels.
This is intended behaviour rather than a defect. The task bars on the Gantt Chart are sized according to their duration on the timescale, and the task description text is rendered to fit within that available space. When a task bar is too narrow to display any meaningful portion of the description (specifically, if there isn't room for at least 3 characters), the system will not display any text for that task, rather than showing a partial or overlapping label.
Allowing text to overflow or overlap between adjacent tasks would make the Gantt Chart harder to read, particularly where tasks are joined together as in the example provided. The full task description remains available via the tooltip when hovering over a task bar.
If the workaround on using the mouse tool tip would decrease productivity substantially for the planners, as you would need to wait for the mouse tip to recognize the blocks and produce the description, an change request has been actioned to the Configure Minimum Label Size to Display for the Task Bars on the Gantt Chart. The enhancement is in Orchestrate version 7.83. Please upgrade to this version or above.
This new system setting includes a user-defined parameter for the minimum character threshold, currently fixed at 3, which would allow the system to display even 1 or 2 characters where space permits.
