Setup times for subsequent task operations within a works order overlap the previous op. You cannot setup a job on another operation which is currently on a machine or other operation.
It is standard functionality in Orchestrate to link tasks to the start of the work time and not to the setup time. The offset method (entering travel time values in the specific operations from FactoryMaster), of linking tasks to the setup time is a work around.
The standard integration will link to start of work time and not setup except when using offset values.
A idea has already been raise on the Orchestrate Ideas Portal, to have a feature in FM/Orch integration to handle task links via setup times without having to use travel time or min offset values in edit task dependencies.
Please vote for this idea and our Product and Development teams will assess this idea for future implementations of the Orchestrate/FactoryMaster integration.
Workaround
Within FactoryMaster, in the Travel Details of the routing (e.g. route number 123), you specify the quantity, but this allows the next operation to overlap this one, by the time planned to make a quantity of 4 of this operation. The next operation after 40 is 50. You want the task overlap from operation 20.
From Orchestrate, use edit task dependencies to manually correct the overlap time period.
Right click task operation 20 and click edit task dependencies.
Put number of hours in Target Min Offset
7.2 was calculated by (4/20) x 36 (which is Op 20 work Duration).
