When I drag a task on the plan, the following error generates:-

An unexpected error occurred. Please report this problem to your system administrator with the following information:
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values.
Parameter name: value

When I click the hyperlink in Notes field of Edit Tasks, the following error generates:

An unexpected error occurred. Please report this problem to your system administrator with the following information:
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values.
Parameter name: position

Solution 1

If this error generates whilst trying to launch the hyperlink in the edit task notes, the functionality has been enhanced in Orchestrate version 7.77 hotfix 10. Please upgrade to this version or above.

Solution 2

Restarting Orchestrate resolves the error. If if continues to generate, check the resources Units Available column compared to the default shift pattern assignment.:

  1. Select resources menu

  2. Select labour and type in the relevant resource

  3. Click search

  4. click Edit and observe the figure in Units Available

Solution 3

You cannot have maximum units available for Labour resources lower than the quantity adjustment figures within Default Shift Pattern Assignment or Daily Adjustment. For example, Labour resource A and B have max units of 16.

  1. Select resources

  2. Default shift pattern assignment or daily adjustment

  3. Select Qty Outstanding tab

  4. Look for the relevant resource and selected shift. The relevant days will contain figures.

If the quantity adjustment is 20 and 28 are being entered for each day. The Max Unit value needs increasing to cater for the higher quantities or the quantity adjustment figure needs lowering to 16 or below.

Solution 4

Delete any old saved plan copies from plan explorer, that are no longer required.
