Designate number of operators on a shift

Written by Charnjit Singh Dharival

We are having issues with shift operators on resources and the number allowed on each one.

To ensure the right number of people are shown for each resource there is a useful screen, the Resource Capacity screen under the Reports option.
By choosing the relevant resources in the left hand panel it can be used to show what the resource utilisation is.

There are two types of Shift Editing Method. This is changed on the Resource itself (select relevant resource and click Edit):

  • On/Off - The resource is either there or not

  • Adjust Quantity - The number of the resource available can change. This is useful for labour where the number of people on shift can change.

Also on the Resource is the option to say how many 'Units Available' there are. This is set to 1 unless the 'Allow Task Overlaps' is ticked.

When you select the following, you can allocate the number of operators to a labour resource:-

  1. select Resources

  2. Default shift pattern assignment

  3. Quantity Adjustment

  4. Specify number of workers

By changing these details, the correct number of resources will be available when planning.
