Error: 'This application is compatible with a maximum database version of 7*** but the current version is 7***'

What to do if you see a database version mismatch error when logging into Orchestrate.

Written by Arthur Ashdown

You may see the following error when trying to log into Orchestrate:

"This application is compatible with a maximum database version of 7148, but the current version is 7151. Please contact your administrator to obtain the correct version of the software."

This error means the database and the client PC are running different versions of Orchestrate. There are two possible causes — the application needs upgrading, or the database needs upgrading. Follow the relevant steps below.

The application needs upgrading

If the application on the client PC needs to be updated to match the database version, run the Orchestrate setup file.

  1. Locate the relevant setup.exe file — this is normally stored on your server or network drive.

  2. Run the setup.exe file to upgrade the application.

📌Note: If you do not have a copy of the installer file, please raise a new case online, referencing the title of this article, and a member of our support team will be able to help you further.

The database needs upgrading

If the database needs to be updated, the upgrade must be completed on the server first before any users log in.

  1. Ensure the upgrade has been completed on the server.

  2. Log into Orchestrate from the server to complete the database upgrade automatically.

If the error still appears after completing these steps, please raise a new case online, referencing the title of this article, and a member of our support team will be able to help you further.
