If a process has same resource dependencies, we are unable to plan with overloads and get an error message. For exampe, choosing a three step simple process and only was able to plan the works order with same resources unticked from the process op steps.
The full error message is:
Order code [relevant order displays]
Error in process definition, process [relevant process displays] Resource [relevant resource displays] Same resource relationship type cannot be used on multiple capacity resources. Remove the same resource marker from the dependency with op 2 or remove the task overlaps option on the resource [relevant resource displays].
You cannot have a ‘same resource’ relationship type used on Multiple Capacity Resources.
The allow overloads option will work but the issue is if you have "Allow Overlaps" and "Same Resource" switched on at the same time. Those two options are not compatible.
To resolve this you need to remove the 'same resource' marker from the dependency on the relevant process operation or remove the 'allow overlaps' option on the mentioned resource.
Multi capacity resources are the units available when when you click edit from the resources menu or when a labour resource has a quantity adjustment higher than 1 from default shift pattern assignment. Same resource relationships can only be assigned to a resource with a maximum of 1 unit available.
Same resource relationship type cannot be used on multiple capacity resources. This means 'Same Resource' tasks cannot be dragged to a resource where 'Allow Task Overlaps' is ticked and the units available is 2 or above. You can drag Same Resource' tasks to resources where 'Allow Task Overlaps' is not ticked.
