How to create a test database or a new database

  • How to create a new Orchestrate database for testing purposes.

  • Need to create new plan for separate site, part of the same company.


Launch Orchestrate and complete the following steps to create a copy of your live database and use it as a test database:

  1. Press Cancel from the logon form

  2. Select File

  3. Select Local Database Management

  4. Select Export File (launches export data file wizard)

  5. Select database to export from the Database drop down list

  6. Click Next

  7. Click browse from The Save Orchestrate Data To field

  8. Enter a filename and click Save

  9. Select Next

  10. Select Finish

  11. Prompt displays message: data has been successfully exported into the database. Do you want to open the containing folder? Click Yes

  12. Select File

  13. Select Local Database Management

  14. Select Import File (launches import data file wizard)

  15. Select Browse

  16. Select Backup Database File

  17. Select Open

  18. Select Next

  19. Select New Database

  20. Select Enter Database Name

  21. Select Next

  22. Select Finish

  23. Prompt displays message: data has been successfully imported into the database. Do you want to sign into this database? Click Yes

To create a fresh new database please complete the following steps:

  1. Launch Orchestrate and click cancel from the logon form

  2. Select File

  3. Select Local Database Management

  4. Select New Database

  5. From Template drop-down list, select blank database.

  6. Click Next

  7. Enter Database Title, Description and Name

  8. Select Next

  9. Select Finish

  10. Prompt displays message that database has been created. Do you want to sign into this database?

  11. Click Yes

Note: if you import from FactoryMaster or Access Supply Chain, you will have to select browse for more at step 5 and run the FM or ASC template. Please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article
