Tasks are planning 24/7 and ignoring the shift pattern, why is this?

The default planning range is five years. If your Plan Start Date and Time is over five years old, the tasks planning after this period of time ignores the shift patterns. These tasks aren't planned over the weekends, the default span shift holds the time there but only actually spends working time when the shift is on.

Please complete the following steps to rectify this issue:-

  1. Click tools then click Options.

  2. Adjust figure in the Planning Range field.

Or:

  1. Click File then click Plan Properties.

  2. Increase the date from the Plan Start Date And Time field.
