Orchestrate: Logic of fulfilling sales orders when linked to works orders

Written by Charnjit Singh Dharival

Works orders and sales orders are linked for the same item (part). Please explain the logic used to fulfil the sales orders.

Orchestrate planning logic works on a first come first served basis, when it comes to dynamic pegging. When there is a consumer on the plan, it gets the required quantity from Stock first and then from the plan (producers on the plan). For more information how consultancy can enhance this sales order logic, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.

The production due/ready dates control the start, finish and deadline dates of the associated works orders. You would be able to change the Deadline date in the Works Orders form. The start and finish dates of the works orders would depend on when the associated tasks have been added to the plan and their duration.

If the time periods don't correspond to how much of the part can be taken from stock, this means that they are not adhering to pegging links (broken dependencies).
