Overview

Planners can't log into the application due to the following error message:

Some system error has been encountered. Databases information cannot be obtained. The detailed information is as follows:

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify the instance name is correct and that SQL server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL network interfaces, error: 26 - Error locating server/instance specified).

What causes this to happen?

The wrong server name has been selected or entered in the Orchestrate logon form.

How to fix this

Please complete the following steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Select more options from the logon form.

  2. Select the Server drop-down list and select Browse for more.

  3. Select the Network Servers tab and select the relevant server.

  4. Click OK.

You will then be able to select the relevant database in the database field and log into Orchestrate.
