Error: 'The added or subtracted value results in an unrepresentable DateTime'

Steps you can take to resolve an unrepresentable DateTime error when opening the plan or running align to status date or align with actuals in Orchestrate.

Written by Arthur Ashdown

You may see this error in the following situations:

  • When opening the plan.

  • When running align to status date.

  • When running align with actuals.

Work through the solutions below that apply to your situation.

Solution 1: Check works order operation start dates

If the error occurs when opening the plan or running align to status date, check that the start date for works order operations in FactoryMaster (or your ERP system) is not set too far ahead — for example, the year 9999.

If the start date is more than five years ahead of the present plan start date and time (the default planning range), the imported tasks with those dates will cause the plan to error when opened or when running align to status date.

Run the following SQL query to identify any tasks with start or end dates outside of the expected planning range:

SELECT A.TaskID, A.StartDate, A.FinishDate, A.Status, A.DeadlineDate, * FROM orc_Tasks AS A WHERE Status <> 99 ORDER BY A.StartDate ASC

📌Note: Look for any tasks with start or end dates that fall outside your planning range — for example, dates as far back as the year 2000 or as far ahead as the year 9999. These will need to be corrected in FactoryMaster or your ERP system.

Solution 2: Upgrade Orchestrate (align with actuals)

If the error occurs specifically when running align with actuals, this has been resolved in Orchestrate version 7.77. Please upgrade to this version or above.
