Stock levels for multiple items drop to negative values on the expiration date of the last produced batch

Written by Charnjit Singh Dharival

Archived Work Orders not excluded from KPI stock plots, pegging, and material dependencies; causes negative stock and infinite demand planner loop.

Stock levels for multiple items drop to negative values on the expiration date of the last produced batch, despite recent software updates; issue disrupts production order generation and planning.

Stock levels for multiple items incorrectly become negative. The stock level of the item drops to a negative value on the exact date that the last produced batch reaches its expiration date. Initially, the issue was believed to be related to how the system handles stock expiration and the incorrect inclusion of archived work orders in material dependencies.

The functionality has been enhanced in Orchestrate version 7.83. Archived tasks will be fully excluded from:

  • KPI stock plot calculations

  • Pegging availability checks

  • Material Dependencies traversal

Please upgrade to this version or above.
