Recommended Physical Server Specifications
This section is valid if you are planning on installing the software on to a physical server, using your own infrastructure. The specifications are guidelines summarised into the following categories:
Minimum Requirements – this is the minimum requirement to run the Access software but performance would not be guaranteed.
Recommended Requirements – this is the ideal requirement to run the Access software.
Optimal Requirements – this is a slightly higher specification, to allow for a very large databases and a high number of users (50+)
Specification Level Server Details
Minimum
1 x Quad Core Intel Xeon CPU
8GB DDR3 Memory

Recommended Virtual Server Specifications
Please refer to the section above for guides on physical server specification, this section is valid if you are planning on installing the software into a virtual environment. Access has successfully implemented virtual servers with its solutions and have found from a performance perspective, Hyper-V/VMware is a viable option for SQL Server 2014 and SQL Server 2016. The overall performance of SQL Server running in a Hyper-V/VMware virtualised environment is reasonable compared with the equivalent native Windows Server 2012 R2/2016 physical server environment.
Access would recommend that you avoid using emulated devices and instead ensure that integration components for Hyper-V/VMware have been installed and synthetic devices are being used for I/O, network, and so on. Synthetic devices will provide the best performance with lowest amount of CPU overhead.
The specifications are guidelines summarised into 2 categories:
Recommended Requirements – this is the ideal requirement to run the Access software.
Optimal Requirements – this is a slightly higher specification, to allow for a larger databases and a high number of users.

Network, Environment & Device Requirements
As part of the daily operation of Orchestrate, the system will transfer large packets of data across your network between the client machines and your server. Network speed and infrastructure can have a large effect on performance. This sections also outlines the supported printing and scanning hardware.
Domain Requirements
To use Orchestrate, the server and client must be part of a domain. If you need to install clients on machines that are members of different domain, please contact your consultant or project manager for advice.
Recommended Network Speed
Orchestrate will function over a 100mbps connection, however users will likely experience some performance issues. Wi-Fi connections are supported but may also cause slower performance. Below are the recommended network conditions:
Recommend 1.0gbps network speed
Ensure all NICs, cables and switches support a 1.0gbps connection
Recommend clients use wired connection when using Orchestrate
