How to use the View Manager

Written by Charnjit Singh Dharival

Add a missing resource to the default view.

What is seen on the Gantt chart, might not be what is wanted (e.g. rows and resources are not sequenced correctly). Orchestrate allows you to change the Gantt chart view and organise components in a way which makes the plan more meaningful.

The main tool used to alter the Gantt chart view is the View Manager. Use one of the following two to get access to the View Manager:

  • Click the camera button from the main menu toolbar.

  • Select View, View Manager.

You can store the Gantt chart views as stored views in Orchestrate, which allows a quick switch among them. Stored views are visible in the following two places:

  • Saved Views drop-down list, after clicking the camera button from the main menu toolbar.

  • Clicking View Manager from Tasks Overview

The View Manager provides an easy way to manipulate the Gantt chart view which is currently being worked on. In addition, you can save different views as Saved Views for different plans or purposes.
The items listed in the Selected box on the right-hand side of the screen are shown on the Gantt chart and in the sequence arranged here.

The functions within the View Manager include:
