How to Archive SFDC reasons

You can archive SFDC reasons by following the steps below:

  1. Click Tools.

  2. Click Custom Lists.

  3. Then select SFDC Resource Downtime Reasons from the drop-down list.

  4. Delete the Reasons from the list of values.

Why am I seeing an issue with the reason being set to "Other"?

The issue with the reason being set to "Other" before is that we are sure that the following scenario has not happened:

  1. A user edits the downtime entry

  2. They see that the reason is not there (This is due to it being archived)

  3. They try to select the archived reason from the reason dropdown menu, but it is not there

  4. They select the Other reason because of this

Old downtime bookings that used to have these reason codes (before they were deleted) don't need to be visible and editable. Because the database SFDC tables still contain the archived reasons against the relevant bookings. It's just in the front-end GUI (Graphical User Interface) where the archived reasons show as empty.
